From 27th May – 2nd of June 2007 at Studio Emad Eddin

Organized by HaRaKa in collaboration with Studio Emad Eddin, choreographer Paul Ibey presented this introduction to Butoh, for actors and dancers.

Butoh comes from the Japanese, meaning ‘dance of darkness’. Butoh was developed post-Hiroshima, and explores the different aesthetics of the grotesque, fearful, and humorous. Butoh allows the performer to discover in himself different depths and possibilities of physical expression.
