Theater light: this workshop has included basic knowledge in light, technique and design such as reading and understanding of drawings together with a complete briefing and practical work of existing equipment. Different use of lamps such as front light, backlight, sidelights, effects and basic use of colors. The workshop also included ideas and organization of a complete light design for theatre.
In addition, participants learned stage safety, dealt with planning set on stage, basic safety on stage, and included some video, dealt with areas such as theories behind different types of projectors, standards and formats as well as video use in practice.
Sound: this workshop has been in both theoretical and practical work. The students have taken courses in: What is sound? Theatre sound history, mixing desk, rigging speakers, microphones, show control (software for running shows), ears – how they work, soldering and how to plan and execute the duties of a sound technician in a theatre show.
Video: this workshop has dealt with areas such as moving picture usage in the theater field, the theories behind different types of projectors, standards and formats as well as video use in practice, setup and show control. The students have been practicing projector rigging and usage as a mean of artistic expression at the Falaki Theatre.
Stage Safety: this workshop has been both theoretical and practical. The practical part has taken place in the Falaki Theatre, including the following steps: basic knowledge in stage work with focus on safety rigging when flying props and light on stage, focus in handling of a counterweight system when rigging and running live shows, and basic knowledge in different methods of flying props and lights.
