From 28th of May – 11th of June 2006 at Studio Emad Eddin
The Cervantes Institute in Cairo, in collaboration with Studio Emad Eddin and the Association for Scientific and Cultural Renaissance, offered a two-week, documentary theatre workshop.
Abierto al Público took place in five different cities, Rabat, Berlin, Moscow, Cairo and Lisbon, and presented the points of view of local taxi drivers.
Participants were pulled from different cultural backgrounds (actors, theatre directors, photographers, video artists, cultural promoters, anthropologists, etc.) creating a multidisciplinary group that afforded a wide variety of experiences. Through the workshop, participants came to understand the creative process of documentary theatre and its critical vision of reality.
