The program has consisted of several intensive workshops for actors throughout the month of August at Studio Emad Eddin, including acting and voice workshops by Ramsi Lehner and Nanda Mohammed as follows:
Acting workshop by Ramsi Lehner Level 1
The workshop focused on the actor’s relationship with the space they occupy, and how to establish their presence confidently within that space.
Voice and Speech for Actors by Nanda Mohammad Level 1
The workshop was divided into 3 sections:
• Breathing Exercises: a set of group and individual exercises aiming at constructing the genuine respiratory mechanism and on discovering the center of genuine respiration and how it can be used for maximum benefits.
• Voice Exercises: a group of team and individual exercises aiming at discovering and motivating the power centers of the voice system and how these can be improved and enhanced.
• Speaking exercises: a group of team and individual exercises concentrating on the mouth muscles and the tongue, in addition to a group of exercises using classical and colloquial Arabic theater texts to work on phonemes, pronunciation, and articulation.
Inhabit Your Body to Inhabit the Stage – Movement workshop by Florence Moutin-Cornille
In this 3-day workshop, the participants have been guided through movement explorations that allowed them to find more body awareness and greater sensitivity. This workshop was geared towards actors with an emphasis on developing stage presence. To undertake this, we used thoughts and tools developed by artists and body practitioners who cultivate and question creative process, somatic, sensory awareness and embodiment.
• Acting workshop by Ramsi Lehner Level 1, from 1st – 8th of August & Level 2 from 14th – 19th of August 2018 at Studio Emad Eddin.
• Voice and Speech for Actors by Nanda Mohammad Level 1, from 9th – 13th of August & Level 2 from 14th – 19th of August 2018 at Studio Emad Eddin.
• Inhabit Your Body to Inhabit the Stage – Movement workshop by Florence Moutin-Cornille (France), from 25th – 27th of August 2018 at Studio Emad Eddin.
• Intensive Acting Program showcase by Ramsi Lehner and Nanda Mohammad, from 28th – 30th of August 2018 at Falaki Theater.
