Karima Mansour

Mentor of Dance

Karima Mansour is an internationally recognized choreographer, dancer, actress, singer, and educator. She founded the Cairo Contemporary Dance Center (CCDC) and MAAT Dance Company. She holds a B.A. in Film from the High Institute of Cinema in Egypt and a B.A. and Master’s degree in Dance from the London Contemporary Dance School.

Over the course of her career, she has choreographed more than thirty works and has taught at institutions including the American University in Cairo, the Ballet Institute, and the Academy of Arts. Her contributions to dance have been widely recognized internationally. In 2019 she authored the International Dance Day message, and in 2022 she was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.

As the mentor for the dance component of the program, Karima Mansour attended rehearsals and provided regular artistic guidance to the choreographers throughout the development process. Her mentorship focused on dramaturgy, physical language, and the relationship between performers and stage space.
