THEATRE DIRECTOR’S MENTOR

Hassan is a theatre director who also worked in cinema.  He founded El Warsha Theatre Company in 1987.

This independent company creates contemporary theatre works and tours them locally and internationally.  It was the first Egyptian company to be included in the official program of the Avignon Festival.

El Warsha’s process involves a great deal of research, training and outreach work.  We have striven to develop an alternative cultural milieu by collaborating with others in Egypt, the Arab World and beyond.
