In the course of this Marionette Manipulation masterclass, participants learned about the logic of different marionette control systems–and, based on their prior experience, practiced the basic or more advanced skills of string puppet movement and manipulation. They examined how the elements of construction and manipulation translate to movement, gestures, and, ultimately, artistic expression. By the end of the workshop, beginners understood the basic principles of marionette manipulation and gained the skills necessary to be able to practice on their own, while advanced students or professionals learned about new techniques and possibilities for furthering their expertise.
