This intensive training course was delivered over six days, covering the fundamental principles of operating sound and lighting equipment for live events. A series of practical workshops allowed participants to learn a variety of skills such as:

• Working safely in the events industry
• Setting up PA systems
• Programming lighting desks
• Microphone techniques
• Equipment maintenance
• Stage Management
• Operating projectors
• Rigging

This exciting initiative did not only provide the young people involved with relevant skills and work experience in the rapidly growing industry of live events, but also facilitated personal development through exposure to art, culture, social dialogue and team-work. Meaningful professional and cultural links were formed between Scotland and Egypt, allowing the project to leave a positive legacy.
