On 25th and 26th of March 2016 at Studio Emad Eddin.
In this 2-day workshop, participants explored the world of Augusto Boal who’s Theatre of the Oppressed uses theatre as a powerful tool for dialogue, empowerment and conflict-resolution. They played around with Image and Forum Theatre, which have the power to transform any space into a site for healing through action. Image Theatre explores the power of images to speak to and for us. From images, we then create small scenes that become the raw material for what is called “spect-actor” interventions in Forum Theatre. Here we experiment with the fine line between fiction and reality, and theatre becomes a form of true verbal and physical expression that is like a “rehearsal” for personal and social revolutions.
