1-Voice and Movement Workshop: My Body, My Voice By Sayda Trujillo (Guatemala)
This intensive voice/body workshop offered participants the opportunity to go on a profound journey of self-discovery, proprioception and an experiential integration of the body and the voice. The workshop was for anyone who is curious about exploring and connecting to the power of their voice. More specifically, this workshop was beneficial to artist educators, actors, writers, social workers, teachers, singers, dancers and community organizers.
2-From Story to Action: Devising and Performing Autobiographical Accounts By Sayda Trujillo (Guatemala)
In this workshop, each person created a 6-10-minute piece of theatre. This workshop took participants through the experience of writing/creating a piece of theatre, using the body and voice to shape a story. The place of departure were their personal stories. They worked with sound, image, and objects to develop character and story. They explored ways of shaping and framing a short solo performance through the merging of body and text. Specific theater techniques that were used in this workshop included viewpoints, clown, and melodrama. The workshop ended with an informal presentation of student pieces.
3-Foundations of Playback Theatre by Ben Rivers and Sayda Trujillo (Australia / Guatemala)
In this 5-day intensive, participants learned and practiced the basic elements of Playback Theatre. In an environment of playfulness, spontaneity and empathic attunement, each student had a chance to experience the roles of Teller, Conductor, Musician and Actor. The philosophy and application of Playback Theatre for community building, cultural activism and trauma response was also explored.
4-Truth and Artistry in Playback by Ben Rivers and Sayda Trujillo (Australia / Guatemala)
This 3-day intensive workshop provided experienced Playback Theatre practitioners with an opportunity to deepen their understanding, skills and application of the method. In particular, they developed their ability to improvise full stories in a way that combines artistry with empathy and truthfulness on stage.
5-Introduction to Psychodrama and the Therapeutic Spiral Model by Ben Rivers (Australia)
Participants in this 4-day intensive workshop experienced the therapeutic and empowering aspects of Psychodrama and the Therapeutic Spiral Model. The workshop also provided opportunities to learn and practice basic Psychodramatic tools.
6-Trauma, Strength and Transformation | Psychodrama and the Therapeutic Spiral Model by Ben Rivers (Australia)
This 4-day intensive workshop provided students and practitioners of Psychodrama with an opportunity to travel further on their own journey of self-discovery and trauma healing. The workshop utilized Psychodrama, the Therapeutic Spiral Model, Dream Work and Expressive Arts Therapy within the context of a safe and supportive group environment.
